Set sail for the best fall event idea ever on September 18 -- the first annual PIRATE-themed pub crawl. Yes, I said pirate-themed. My mind is exploding with costume ideas and where I can locate an eye patch. Kudos to this great fundraising idea for the Blood Bank, courtesy of the Anchorage Downtown Partnership, Ltd., The Odom Corporation, K&H Graphics and eleven (11) downtown pubs.

The event will feature costume contests, games, music, food and prizes - in addition to the fact you get to actually search for "Booty" and not get made fun of. The ship sets sail at 7:00 p.m. at any of the participating pubs and won’t stop until the wee hours of the morning. Start your night at any pub at any time; just don’t forget your eye patch and peg leg!

Pubs include: The Anchor Pub, The Avenue Bar, Bernie’s Bungalow Lounge, Darwin’s Theory, The Gaslight Bar, Humpy’s, Kodiak Bar & Grill, Mad Myrna’s, McGinley’s Pub, Platinum Jaxx and Rumrunners.
