As promised, you can find complete and comprehensive lists of song recommendations at a few key sites (Googling "karaoke songs best/worst" helps, too).
Venues in Town : Some hot spots to hit if you're in the mood to croon include The Woodshed Lounge (535 W. Third Ave., 276-5193) and Al's Alaskan Inn
(7830 Old Seward Hwy., 344-6223). I've also heard that a good song can be had at Rice Bowl (810 E. Sixth Ave., 276-7423), and then there's that intriguing, hole-in-the-wall place at International and C Street that research has found to be called Wow Karaoke (101 E. International Airport Road, 562-7790). What's your favorite place in town? Let me know and comment below!
Music Events : Don't miss the finals of the "Rock Band" tournament sponsored by Gamer's Paradise (www.iansgp.com) 7 p.m. Saturday at Bernie's Bungalow Lounge (626 D St., 276-8808). Humpy's hosts a "Guitar Hero" night each Monday, and Chilkoot Charlie's boasts a confluence of karaoke, "Rock Band" and "Guitar Hero" every Monday. Your electronic debut awaits, Anchorage.
