From Sean Cockerham in Anchorage --
I just stopped by the official opening of the Sean Parnell Congressional campaign headquarters. It was very much a joint Sarah Palin/Sean Parnell event. They even cut the ribbon together.
People were having Palin sign copies of the book "Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska’s Political Establishment Upside Down."
Parnell’s headquarters is located at 5th and B, in the same office Palin used as her campaign headquarters when running for governor.
“We’re going to have a better connection in Washington D.C. with Sean in Congress,” Palin declared.
Parnell and state Rep. Gabrielle LeDoux are running against Don Young in the Republican primary. Parnell said Alaska needs a “new engine” in Washington, D.C., because the current one has corrosion, valves "gummed up," and "leaking credibility."
KTUU-TV anchor Mike Ross was there and asked Palin about Mayor Mark Begich's complaint he hasn’t been able to get a meeting with Palin to talk about the upcoming budget vetoes. Palin said she didn’t think there was any problem for Begich in getting in to see her, and said she was with the mayor at an event yesterday.
