Lynden International to Acquire Movers, Inc. in Anchorage
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, April 9 (PRNewswire) – Lynden International acquired the Anchorage division of seafood logistics company Movers, Inc. on April 1. Together, the companies will provide a broad spectrum of services for the Alaska seafood industry.
Lynden gains the expertise of Movers, Inc.'s niche service in the seafood market while Movers, Inc. customers benefit from opportunities now available through Lynden's worldwide network of locations. The Seattle office of Movers, Inc. will continue to operate under current ownership, and the company name will be retained in Anchorage after the acquisition.
"The services offered by Movers, Inc., including specialized ground and air logistics for perishables and the Alaska seafood industry, give us unique tools that we did not have in our repertoire," said Dennis Mitchell, Lynden International regional manager in Alaska.
The Anchorage facility is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week and provides refrigeration and logistics services for a variety of seafood industry companies. Truck brokering service is also available for fresh and frozen seafood from Anchorage to points in the Lower 48.
"Our reputation for creativity and efficiency has allowed us to gain a majority market share in moving seafood by air," said Movers, Inc. President and CEO Dave Beach. "We're excited about the potential for the Alaska seafood transportation market now that we are joining Lynden."
