Going to the Killswitch Engage show Sept. 29 at the Egan Center? As it is, tickets cost $35. Add up costs for drinks, snacks, and cab rides to and fro, and you're spending a pretty penny.
So consider this deal from AKSoul: A $99 VIP package that gets you into a pre-party at Koots with an open bar, a limo bus ride to the show, access to free drinks at the Egan's VIP bar, a meet-and-greet with Killswitch after the show, and a limo bus back to Koots for the after party.

All aboard for the latest crazy-cool entertainment option from Blues Central owner Frank Dahl.
Here's the deal: Board an Alaska Railroad train in Anchorage on Saturday, Sept. 23. Serenaded by the rowdy boys of Rebel Blues Band, cruise south through the gorgeous scenery of the Turnagain Arm, the Chugach National Forest, and along the shores of Resurrection Bay.
First stop: The infamously crazy Pit Bar in Seward, were Dahl will unfurl a spread of yummy appetizers, and serve up complimentary barbecue as the Rebel Blues boys keep on rocking. You'll get a couple drinks for free, then turn to the no-host bar for the rest.

In my inaugural blog entry, I bring you truly significant news: Dollar beers are back at Chilkoot Charlie’s.
It’s been about a year since the biggest bar in town boosted its early evening brew prices from $1 to $2 per cup. And with that, Koots’ motto, “We cheat the other guy and pass the savings on to you."
