I can't believe that he is

I can't believe that he is gone. My sympathies go to Terry and the family. I just saw Derek this last summer he came to visit the Gold Dredge where he used to work maintenence with my dad. I'll never forget our orchestra days when he played cello and when he would "work" at the dredge hiding from my dad, it was good times. He will be missed.

My deepest, heartfelt sympathy

I'd like to express my deepest, heartfelt sympathy to Kenita and the family of Derek. I can only begin to imagine the sorrow that comes with losing someone so precious as a son. May cherished memories bring you comfort in your time of sadness. Please know that my heart aches in unison with yours for the loss of this fine young man, a hero who made the ultimate sacrifice for the values we hold so dear in America. My thoughts are with you in this time of sorrow.

So Young

Too young to die.... I am so sorry to hear of the loss of someone far too young to die. This young man was willing to sacrifice his life - may his brave soul rest in peace. May all of us always remember the many sacrifices that soldiers and their families make. We owe them our gratitude and blessings.

Derek

Derek was one of the nicest kids I ever knew from NPHS. He was a good friend of both of my sons. He was one of 25 kids that went on a choir trip that I organized to NYC in March 2000. What I remember most are 2 things: he bought me flowers so my hotel room would be pretty and he couldn't dance. I can't remember what play he was in but I liked to tease him that he couldn't dance! He was such a thoughtful person and he will really be missed. I am hearbroken at his passing.
