Sorely missed
Mike was a great man. He always made me laugh. He was one of my husband's closest friends. They hit it off right away and he became part of our family. He was the first to visit right after our first daughter was born. He always asked how she was. He was always there to lend a hand or to crack a joke. I pray for him daily and mourn the loss of such a great person. I never met Kyle, his fiance, but I remember asking him last summer if she was 'the one' and he said yes. I was impressed. I figured she must be something special to tame him! I wish we would have had the chance to meet. You both are in my thoughts and prayers.

Forever in our prayers
I personally never knew Mike, but my husband was good friends with him. They both served in Iraq as medics together. My husband was luckly able to be home for Mikes memorial and speak. He spoke of his love for being a medic, his unique sense of humor and his duty to his men. I pray everyday for the famlies of the fallen and for the men and women we still have over there.

My fiance, my best friend
Mike was an amazing person. He cared so deeply for everyone around him and he so wanted to help anyone and everyone. He took care of his guys, he tried to take care of me. When he had an opportunity to change positions to one where he wouldn't be patrolling he said no, he stayed with "his guys." I will miss him everyday, but I am so proud of what he did and who he was.

Sorely missed
My son called on Mother's day after weeks of no contact. He spoke of 'Hullender the Medic'. He said that he missed seeing him every day. It was odd that someone he knew well wasn't there anymore. They had compared tatoos. Hullender is home now and safe. My prayers are with the parents of this young man who I'm told had a special sense of humor. We are all part of a large family of soilders. Hullender will always be in my prayers and thoughts...lets bring them all home.

Tragic
My son and daughter-in-law's lives are forever changed by the loss of their dear friend, Mike. My son had the great honor to serve with Mike over the years and told me the loss of Mike was the worst thing he has experienced. Mike is a true American Hero that will always be missed. My deepest sympathy goes to his family, fiancee, and friends.
