DAN
DAN AND MY HUSBAND SERVED TOGETHER FOR A FEW YEARS AT FT. BRAGG AND THAT IS HOW I MET HIM. WE HAD A BUNCH OF THE GUYS AND THEIR WIVES OVER TO OUR APARTMENT BEFORE THEY LEFT FOR AFGHANISTAN IN 2003. I REMEMBER GIVING HIM A HUG THAT NIGHT AND TELLING HIM CONRATULATIONS AND GOOD LUCK. (HE HAD JUST FOUND OUT NOT TOO LONG BEFORE THAT NIGHT THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE A DADDY.) THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW DAN AND I AM SO GLAD I HAVE THAT MEMORY OF HIM OF KEEP WITH ME. WE JUST SPENT A FEW DAYS IN FAYETTEVILLE VISITING ALIDA AND THE KIDS. IT WAS VERY BITTERSEET. I JUST REALLY HOPE DAN'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS KNOW HOW MUCH HE WAS LOVED AND THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT CARED ABOUT HIM AND ARE VERY GRATEFUL TO HAVE KNOWN HIM.

To a fine young man
Our thoughts and our prayers go out to Daniel's family. I have known them for years and realize this is a very, very hard time in their lives. Daniel will never be forgotten.

My closest friend
I miss Dan so much. I would give anything to have him back. I am so glad for the time that I got to spend with him this summer. I am so proud of him. He is forever in my heart.

an old friend.
So sorry to hear the news. I hadn't seen Daniel in years, but we were able to get back in touch a time or two over the last year. I went to elementary school with Dan, and saw him from time to time during my visits to Glennallen to see my dad. I'll remember his stories and his smile the most. Your family is in my thoughts, I hope you can find comfort in each other during this time. Rest in peace my friend. Shaune

Sgt Daniel Woodcock
My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this most difficult time. Daniel, you are a True American Hero. You so unselfishly gave of yourself for others in the name of Freedom. Our thanks will never equal what you gave for us.
I know Daniel from him going to school with my boys. I will always remember you like that, Daniel. You will not be forgotten.
