Shrek The Musical opens in Anchorage this week as it begins its North American tour. I have enjoyed spending an hour or so each day this week watching the set go up and tech rehearsals get under way to prepare the cast and crew, including some new cast members, for the local shows and the tour. Actors have rehearsed without costumes, but have donned padding, large shoes, etc. to practice movement in sometimes bulky dress worn for the show. Their dedication to craft is impressive, and their senses of humor serve them well.
