DOT&PF’s Amanda Holland to chair AASHTO subcommittee

JUNEAU, ALASKA—The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials named Amanda Holland chair of its Subcommittee on Personnel and Human Resources (ASHR). Holland has served as division operations manager at the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT&PF) since 2010.

AASHTO President Kirk Steudle appointed Holland after she served as ASHR’s research coordinator for three years before becoming acting vice chair in May.

DOT&PF Commissioner Marc Luiken said he was pleased with Holland’s appointment.

“Amanda’s experience at the Department of Transportation and her 20 years working for the State of Alaska will serve AASHTO and its members well,” Luiken said. “Alaskans are proud to see her step into this role.”

As chair, Holland said she will work to ensure our shared transportation workforce challenges will be addressed by selecting best management practices from among the nation’s DOTs.

Holland replaced former chair Mary Harker of Idaho Department of Transportation.

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (ADOT&PF) oversees 254 airports, 11 ferries serving 35 communities, 5,619 miles of highway and 720 public facilities throughout the state of Alaska. The mission of ADOT&PF is to “Get Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure.”
