DGGS releases request for proposals for airborne geophysical surveys

(Fairbanks)—The Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) is soliciting proposals for two helicopter-borne geophysical surveys in southwestern Alaska.

The Farewell Survey includes part of the McGrath and Lime Hills quadrangles, and is in the McGrath mining district.

The Five Spot survey, consisting of five separate locations, is mainly in the Iditarod Quadrangle, with small areas in the Ophir, Holy Cross, Russian Mission, and Sleetmute quadrangles. The Five Spot survey is in the Innoko–Iditarod mining district with a small portion in the Aniak mining district. Aeromagnetic, electromagnetic, and some radiometric data will be acquired. The resulting data will be processed into a variety of maps and digital files.

The Request for Proposals (RFP) is posted on the State’s Online Public Notice site http://notes4.state.ak.us/pn. A link to the document is also on the DGGS website www.dggs.alaska.gov under “Headlines.”

The Adobe Acrobat file contains the text and general location figures. This file can be viewed using the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader (available at no cost from a link on the DGGS page). The ZIP file, RFP2013-1000-1327BlocksEtAl.ZIP, contains outlines in ESRI shape file format for each survey block.

An RFP package may be obtained in person at the address below during regular work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except State holidays. If technical problems prevent downloading, one copy of the RFP will be sent on request.

The State assumes no liability for incorrect addresses or delivery of RFP packages by public or private carriers.
