Alyeska Resort hires four

Alyeska Resort welcomes four new members to the management team: Jessica Pezak, Director of Marketing; Jaci Ohayon, director of human resources; Eric Teixman, mountain manager; and Melissa LaRose, director of retail sales and guest services.

Alyeska Resort’s staff peaks at almost 700 employees during ski season, with a large number of seasonal employees. The four new hires are all year-round, full-time positions.

Pezak graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications. She began her employment with Hunter Mountain in the Northern Catskill Mountains in New York as director of communications in 2006 and was promoted to Hunter’s marketing and communications manager in 2010. She oversaw all marketing activities for Hunter including their social media platforms, online marketing efforts, web programming, collateral development, media buying and many other facets of the resort marketing.

LaRose comes to her new position with a variety of experience in the resort industry, most recently arriving from Montana where she spent seven years as the director of retail, rental, human resources, technology and procurement at Yellow Stone Mountain Club. In her new position, she will be in charge of all retail outlets and will also work with the hotel front line service staff to focus on guest services in order to increase the resort’s customer service levels.

Teixman leads the extensive mountain operations department. With extensive experience in the construction and maintenance trades, he comes to Girdwood from Big Sky, Mont., where he spent the past three years working as lift maintenance manager for the Club at Spanish Peaks. Teixman is also a journeyman ironworker, crane and heavy equipment operator and is well versed in aerial tramway construction and maintenance. In his new position, he will work under the direction of Ski Area General Manager Di Hiibner in supervising Tram operations, lift operations, lift maintenance, vehicle maintenance and grooming departments.

Ohayon will be responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction for Alyeska Resort’s Human resources department while overseeing all of the resort’s HR services and programs. She graduated from Willamette University College of Law with a Juris Doctorate degree. She also received a Master of Arts degree in International Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in social science.
