My dogs are such creatures of routine. I walk them twice a day -- once midmorning and once around midnight. If I try to leave out a walk, I hear about it. All have excess energy and harass me to play or do something. Lucy is especially insistent.
So last night I came home and none of them harassed me. Lucy was lying down quietly on her bed, and the Yorkies were content to sit near me without fuss. I knew something was strange.
As it turns out, Kelly, my wife, had given them a bonus walk in the early evening. Nothing particularly strenuous, just enough for them to check it off their to-do list.
I wasn't entirely convinced they wouldn't take it out on me later by waking me up early, so I took them for our normal post-midnight walk anyway and enjoyed an extra hour or so of sleep in the morning.
What's up with your pack?
