The Kalamazoo K-Wings, who like the Alaska Aces are trying to get back to the ECHL's Kelly Cup Finals, rallied tonight to beat Florida 3-2 and square the Eastern Conference finals at one game apiece.
Trailing 1-0 six minutes into the third period -- and that made it 106+ minutes of shutout work in the series for Everblades goaltender Pat Nagle -- Kalamazoo forged a 1-1 tie on a power-play strike from Kory Karlander (Aces fans may remember him as the guy who won a kajillion face-offs in the Finals last season). Darren Archibald followed with the go-ahead goal less than two minutes later to make it 2-1 K-Wings.
But Florida's Matt Beca tied it 2-2 with five minutes to go. Then Dustin Cloutier racked the game-winning goal for Kalamazoo at 17:32 of the third.
Riley Gill racked 36 saves for the K-Wings. Game 3 is set for Wednesday in Florida.
