…on my way to the neighborhood office-supply store.
I live in a neighborhood bordered by downtown on one side, and by east Anchorage on the other. Not exactly the most affluent part of town—low-income housing, homeless shelters, etc.
At about 3:30pm I left my residence and entered the alley that passed in front of it, and there, only 20ft in front of me, was—gasp!—a BLACK man wearing a HOODIE! I'M NOT KIDDING!
However, as I’m not the type of paranoid, emotionally-twisted wreck for whom such a sight elicits a "fight-or-flight response", I continued on my way unperturbed, as did the hoodie-wearing gentleman.
A short while later he turned out of the alley, entered a nearby apartment complex and disappeared from view. Now here’s the amazing part—I didn’t SHOOT that man, didn’t feel the slightest inclination to, and I made it home unharmed!
Truly amazing--wouldn't you agree?
