Nelson joins UIC Construction Services

Margaret Nelson has joined UIC Construction Services as business development/marketing manager, announced David Klopp, UICCS General Manager.

Nelson has extensive business and management experience in Alaska. Most recently she served as senior vice president of corporate development for Calista Corp. and was president/CEO of the Alaska Native Heritage Center during its development and opening. An Alaska Native from Southeast Alaska, she studied business administration at the University of Alaska Anchorage and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

In her role, Nelson identifies new business opportunities and facilitates expansion into new markets. With UICCS key management, she focuses on revenue generation in the private sector in Alaska and with Native American tribal entities. Also, she will develop and maintain key client relationships.

UICCS’ four construction companies, UIC Construction, SIKU Construction, Rockford Corp. and Kautaq Construction, specialize in project management, general contracting, electrical construction, pipeline and tank construction, earthwork, civil construction, base operations and maintenance, communications solutions and services. UICCS operates in Alaska, the U.S. and the Pacific Rim. It is a wholy owned by Ukpeagvik Inupiat Corp., the Alaska Native Corporation of Barrow.
