Around The Rinks (AHL, College, ECHL)

Erstwhile Alaska Aces goaltender Gerald Coleman keeps killin' it in the AHL -- tonight, he stopped 34 shots for Lake Erie in a 3-2 overtime win at Oklahoma City.

That makes the ECHL's reigning Goaltender of the Year 11-4-2 for Lake Erie, with a 2.56 goals-against average and .922 save percentage.

In women's Division I, Wisconsin, which had junior Alev Kelter of Eagle River on defense, won its NCAA quarterfinal 3-1 over Mercyhurst. Kelter was even with three shots on goal.

North Dakota and junior defenseman Candace Molle of Anchorage fell 5-1 to Minnesota in a quarterfinal.

In Division III, Wisconsin-River Falls senior goaltender Melissa Deardorff's remarkable career came to a close -- she made 32 saves in a 4-2 quarterfinal loss at Gustavus Adolphus.

Norwich, which got an assist from sophomore defenseman Kayla Parsons of Fairbanks, advanced with a 5-0 win over Amherst.

Oh, and props to former UAF forward Ron Meyers -- playing in his third pro game for the Idaho Steelheads after recently wrapping up his college career, he had his first pro goal and first pro assist in a 6-5 shootout loss to Bakersfield and was named first star of the game.
