Alev Kelter Is Golden -- As In Golden Goal (As In Double OT Winner For Wisconsin)

Alev Kelter, the Wisconsin women's soccer sophomore midfielder from Eagle River -- well, midfielder when it's futbol season, but a hockey player for the Badgers during the winter -- scored the game-winning, double-overtime goal Sunday in a 1-0 victory over Michigan.

Kelter, a Big Ten All-Freshman and All-Big Ten second-team pick last season, bagged her third goal of the season, which ranks second on the team for the 9-4-4 Badgers. She also has one assist and her four points -- in soccer, a goal is worth two scoring point on an individual players' stat sheet -- gives her seven points, tied for second on the team. She's also committed a team-high 16 fouls, which is a way of saying she is a physical force.

To read about Alev's exploits Sunday, check out this game story in the Badger Herald and this news release from the Wisconsin sports information office.

Kelter's twin sister, Derya, also plays soccer and hockey for the Badgers.
