Strong bodies: fitness & health

This blog will cover all city and statewide bodybuilding competitions and the out-of-state guest posers. Weight-loss success stories from local people, features/bios on bodybuilding, fitness and figure competitors, coverage of fad diets. Nutritious recipes and reviews on local gyms and health food stores. I would also like to cover Adult/Childhood Obesity in America and specifically,Alaska. Weight-lifting techniques/safety as well as the benefits for women. This is just a general idea, as the blog will be constantly evolving.

The Parkour Workout

A "free running" workout with focus on hopping over obstacles in a physically graceful way, Le Parkour originated from France several years ago as a way to get from point A to point B in fast and in style. The workouts are best performed in an Urban environment, but can happen just about anywhere.
Parkour, anyone?Parkour, anyone?

Some "traceurs," aka runners, can bust out some crazy maneuvers. Back flips off buildings, balancing on narrow walls on highway overpasses, handstands, jumping over cars, etc. A beginner should start with basic running and jumping, preferably not on top of a high building. You should be in decent shape before attempting a Parkour workout, as it's very demanding but one that's sure to improve cardiovascular endurance and overall strength and power.
