Anchor Park United Methodist Church reaches out

Anchor Park United Methodist Church is offering a couple of series of talks that look interesting. The first one is called "Singing Your Lifesong," and it is offered every Sunday starting Aug. 29 through Sept. 26.
The sermon series begins at 11 a.m. and is supposed to help attendees better understand what we are supposed to do and be.
The other workshop is more topical. "When Christians Get It Wrong" looks at contemporary issues such as homosexuality and tries to look at these issues from a theological perspective so that Christians can "live a more compelling faith," according to the direct mail piece that arrived in local mailboxes this week.
Finally, the church offers "Date w/a Purpose" at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept 23. Couples can come for a night of fun and food and child care is provided.
The church is at 2300 Oak Drive. It has worship services at 11 a.m. Sundays in English and 1 p.m. Sundays in Tongan.
The phone number of the church is 277-0152
