Former Alaska Aces winger Charles Linglet, who has played the past four seasons in the AHL and made his NHL debut with Edmonton last year, is headed to Russia.
Linglet, who turned 28 last week, has signed with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod of the Kontinental Hockey League -- the club has him listed on its roster.
Linglet, who played his first two seasons as a pro for the Aces (2003-04 and 2004-05), played five games for the Oilers last season, and otherwise was a linchpin for AHL Springfield.
Linglet in 75 games led the AHL Falcons in assists and points with 19-55--74 totals. Perhaps even more impressively, his plus-minus rating was even, no small thing on a club that featured guys with unsightly numbers like -32, -25 and -20. Actually, Linglet was the only Springfield regular (anyone who played at least half the club's games) to not be a minus.
