KNBA AUCTION ON THURSDAY

.Spirit Bird: by John McIntyreSpirit Bird: by John McIntyre
Koahnic Broadcast Corporation's high-profile Alaska Native Art Auction will be held on Thursday evening on March 18 at the Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center. The annual fundraiser has been going on for 15 years and supports Koahnic's KNBA radio station and other projects.

This year's auction will include work donated by Perry Eaton, Ron Senungetuk and Lalla Williams, among others. The offerings range from abstract paintings and fashionable jewelry to exquisitely unique items like a bird form by master carver John McIntyre. Sculptures like this were once found at the door of Yup'ik community houses where they greeted visitors.

Iditarod musher John Baker will be in attendance.

To reserve a table, call Lauralynn Haase at (907) 793-3500 or lhaase@knba.org
