A man wanted in connection with a home-invasion robbery last year that left two wounded by gunshots was arrested Thursday night at a home in Wasilla, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Ath Som Chhay, 22, was arrested at the residence off Ella Mae Road about 8:30 p.m. and booked in the Anchorage jail on charges of robbery, assault and conspiracy to commit robbery, troopers said.
Chhay is the third man accused of raiding a home in a mobile home park at 1200 W. Dimond Blvd. on May 4, 2009, while the resident was home with his five children, his brother and his brother’s girlfriend, according to police.
The robbers hit the resident in the head with a pistol, then shot his brother and the girlfriend before fleeing, according to police. All survived.
Chhay, Lanolan Anderson, 35, and Jack Espinoza Jr. 28, were indicted Tuesday on robbery and assault charges.
Last month, Espinoza was jailed on an assault charge for his alleged involvement in a Feb. 23 shooting at a mobile home park at 3307 Boniface Parkway. Police say Espinoza and his juvenile cousin got into an altercation with 36-year-old Samuel Colegrove and the minor shot Colegrove.
