Former UAA captain Mat Robinson, who is enjoying a terrific rookie season in the ECHL, has been promoted to the American Hockey League.
Binghamton, the AHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators, summoned the defenseman from ECHL Elmira. Robinson played two games with Binghamton earlier this season, with no points.
At Elmira, Robinson has furnished 5-25--30 totals in 50 games, which ties him for 11th in points among league blueliners (he's tied with erstwhile Alaska Aces D-man T.J. Fast, currently on promotion to Peoria). Robinson also has gone +15 and has taken just 22 minutes in penalties.
