Aces: So, Really, How Hard Is This Pro Pucks Gig, Anyhow?

Going to be tough for Darrell May to top his pro debut -- the new Alaska Aces winger only managed a goal, an assist, three shots and a +2 rating in his first outing, Wednesday's 5-2 win over Utah.

OK, look, we'll agree May's debut was useful, right? Guess he did decent work. Easy, Cowbell Crew -- as debuts go, that one indeed was sweet.

Of course, pro hockey is all about, what have you done for me lately? So we'll see how he does in Thursday night's rematch.

I think we can all agree the Aces were dreadful for 18 minutes tonight, when they fell behind 2-0. They pretty much owned the game after that -- they outshot the Grizzlies 38-29 for the game, but 35-18 over the final 42 minutes.

Nick Mazzolini continued his strong rookie campaign -- the center bagged two goals and a helper. His linesmates flourished, too -- Eric Boguniecki came through with one goal and one assist, and Judd Blackwater added two helpers. And don't forget goaltender Scott Reid -- he stopped 27 shots and one of the two goals he surrendered deflected in off the stick of Aces defenseman Ryan Turek.
