KidPlay: Spring Break Camps & Activities

In a Galaxy Far, Far, Away Spring Break Art Camp
In this daily sculpture workshop inspired by the "Star Wars" exhibit, students work with mixed media such as clay, foils, metal and wood. Taught by art educator Linda Wetzel. Ages 8 -12, 10 a.m.-noon daily, Anchorage Museum, 625 C St. $90 members/$110 non-members, includes admission to "Star Wars" exhibit. (929-9200, Website).

Spring Break Horse Camp
Daily camps with horse back riding lessons, grooming, tacking and barn chores. Bring your own lunch. Indoor riding area. Ages 7-17, 9 a.m. daily, Huffman Horse Center, 12401 Gander St. (345-7766, Website).

Alaska Theatre of Youth Spring Break Boot Camp
Learn theatre games, improv, story telling, Shakespeare, stage combat, voice and movement in a fun relaxed week of theatre. Ages 8-18. 9 a.m.-5 p.m. daily, Goldenview Middle School, 15800 Goldenview Drive, $250. (338-4901, Website).

Junior Naturalist Spring Break Hike
Start with lunch in a yurt, then hike to the river (two-three miles, depending on conditions). Limited to the first 12 children aged 6 and up, accompanied by a parent or other adult. Bear Tooth Flicks
The Bear Tooth will open for matinees, today through March 12. "The Spy Next Door," 1 p.m. daily, "The Princess & the Frog," 3:15 p.m. daily, "Alvin & the Chipmunks," 5:30 p.m. daily, except Monday. $3. (Website)

Spring Break Kids Yoga
Ages 5 to 12. 9:30 a.m.-11 a.m. daily Anchorage Yoga, 701 W. 36th Ave. One class for $7 or five class kidpass for $25 (good for all future kids classes)(Website).

Mat-Su Youth Court Training Class
Open to students entering grades 9 -12. Taught by local attorneys, students receive legal training to participate in the sentencing of first time juvenile offenders charged with misdemeanors. Student members may receive one-half of a social studies elective credit after 94 hours of program participation. 3 p.m.-6 p.m. Daily, Palmer Courthouse, 435 S. Denali $30 (352-5445, Website).
