Strip club owner, cocaine dealer, loses business

The owner of PJs strip club has been sentenced to one year of home confinement and time served for his conviction of maintaining a drug-involved premise, according to the U.S. attorney.

Hallie Dean McGinnis, 66, has already been in custody for 2 1/2 months since pleading guilty to the charge, prosecutors said. As a result of the conviction, he will also lose the strip club and its liquor license.

Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Christine Thoreson said in a statement that McGinnis used the Spenard landmark nightclub as a front to distribute cocaine, both through his employees and himself.

Undercover Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents bought cocaine from McGinnis and his employees and also seized 75.6 grams of cocaine along with drug paraphernalia during a search of the business, prosecutors said.

Chief U.S. District Judge Ralph Beistline imposed the sentence on McGinnis.
