Alaska State Troopers have seized more than 500 plants and $82,000 in cash from a commercial growing operation in Wasilla.
The Mat Su Drug Unit also seized guns, vehicles and growing equipment following the search on Monday of the Wasilla home of Trace Thoms, 46, and his wife, Jennifer Thoms, 35, troopers said.
Investigators found 511 plants weighing 214 pounds — for an estimated dry weight of roughly 36 pounds — as well as growing equipment and processed marijuana, troopers said.
They also seized $82,945 in cash, two guns, a Ford F-250, a Volvo front-end loader, a large enclosed utility trailer, five snowmachines and an ATV, troopers said.
The Thoms were both charged with four counts of fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, troopers said.
