A Naukati man involved in a series of violent encounters was arrested after cutting himself with a chain saw chain and getting hit in the head with a skateboard, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Richard Pitcher, 22, was charged with fourth-degree assault and misconduct involving drugs following the incident Friday afternoon, troopers said.
Officers in Klawock were summoned to Naukati about 3:30 p.m. to a report that Pitcher was in front of the general store, screaming and bleeding from both arms, throwing up and refusing to accept medical attention, troopers said.
Troopers got on scene about an hour later and found Pitcher at a nearby home off Heather Street.
They discovered Pitcher had been involved in a domestic violence altercation and that he had cut himself with the chain of a chain saw, then got into a fight with a passer-by on the road, troopers said.
During that altercation, Immanuel Connolly, 20, of Naukati, hit Pitcher in the back of the head with a skateboard, troopers said.
Connolly was arrested on a charge of third-degree assault. He and Pitcher were booked into jail in Craig.
