(My "Missive" response below) The ”War On Terror”---Scared Stupid Or A Preexisting Condition?

“Terrorism is the war of the poor, and war is the terrorism of the rich." - Sir Peter Ustinov

What’s next---The Hair Bomber? Just talk to a prison guard who can inform of the various body parts and orifices available for secreting (hiding) stuff.

The Underwear Bomber,“ a.k.a. “The Condom Bomber,” is just another excuse to lob more missiles into Yemen. At least he wore a condom.

Yemen's foreign minister, Abu Bakr al-Qirbi---taking full advantage of the abject fear and panic created by the Yemen connection---is requesting “the international community to train and equip counter-terrorist forces,” the Times of London reported on December 30. He wants helicopters and other war-stuff. Let’s hope it doesn’t fall into the hands of terrorists---there is, after all, a civil war going on there.

Meanwhile, the President cannot act rationally even if he wanted to because Americans want him to “act like a man” and arm our nation even further into bankruptcy---and then, just like those recently-acquitted Blackwater killers of random Iraqis, use our technological superiority to kill any people anywhere in the vicinity of where we think the “bad guys“ might be. We need to invade another country, blindly shoot off more Predator drones, assassinate more people, and give huge amounts of money and military aid to participants (often on both sides) in civil wars. That will show those condom bombers!

MORE WARS -

The current, weak Yemeni government will take our money and arms and then do whatever they want anyway---just like the Afghans, Pakistanis and Iraqis. They will use aid from those stupid Americans to solidify their own political power because they all know we will eventually be forced to leave.

The U.S. now occupies Iraq; has escalated the war in Afghanistan and it’s bombing campaigns in Pakistan and Yemen; conducts covert actions in Somalia; and has "crippling" sanctions against Iran.

Some Democrats---catching the fear-fever---are advocating even "harsher" wars against Muslims. As usual, this Democrat Administration is not attacking or threatening enough Muslim countries to suit our blustering American tough-guys. Even with a five-front-war, Obama is accused by militant Republicans of "an allergy to the concept of war."

“Globalism” is running wild! Let’s shoot up the entire region! That sounds a lot cheaper, easier and more effective than actually looking at information which already exists about these terrorist bombers! Why bother checking the internet first?

MORE INQUISITIONS---TOO MANY EPISODES OF “24” -

Rep. Peter King, leading Republican on the House Homeland Security Committee, says Condom Boy should be tried by a military tribunal to get “useful information.” He wants to get “more intelligence” from the Condom Bomber and find out what else al Quaeda has planned.

Anyone who thinks al Quaeda is stupid enough to tell this fool anything of intelligence value should be subjected to an intelligence test.

We still haven’t learned the lessons of Vietnam. The “Phoenix program” in Vietnam was instituted to pick up and torture Vietnamese---anyone who spoke against change---and use that torture-derived information upon which to base military strategy. The My Lai Massacre was based on such faulty intelligence.

Let’s get one thing straight. The Con-dumb Bomber got onto an airliner to the U.S. because the U.S. didn’t pull his visa as they should have done since he had been “on the radar” for some time.

9/11---NOW WHO COULD HAVE SEEN THAT COMING?

For ten years before 9/11 I just happened to catch a number of “news” shows on a battery-powered, 9-inch screen TV out here in the woods. I watched as undercover FAA investigators smuggled replica pistols through airport security. I watched “reporters” from cheap, forgettable and now-defunct programs similar to “Dateline” as they wandered around inside parked airliners taping with video cameras---right there with the cleaning crews---commenting on how easy it would have been to plant a bomb.

For years prior to 9/11 I listened to government and security experts telling us how there hadn’t been an airliner high-jacking in years. So, with deregulation, airlines were able to put airport security low on the priority list.

But the 9/11 bombers had been on U.S. “radar” long before they flew into the Twin Towers and the Pentagon. The US National Security Agency had Osama Bin Laden’s phone number, for crying out loud. They just weren’t going to share full information or translations with the FBI when Osama’s henchmen left Yemen for the U.S.---a different jurisdiction.

The 9/11 bombers weren’t dumb enough to post their intentions on the Internet---but the National Security Agency, the C.I.A. and the F.B.I. had between them, enough information to document the flying lessons Osama’s Boys were taking---even the “Huggy Bear“ insurance company where one 9/11 bomber had insured his Toyota Corolla. Unbelievably, one 9/11 bomber had even filed a police report complaining that he had been mugged by a Black man. At one time the 9/11 bombers lived two miles from NSA headquarters, where director, General Mike Hayden, could have spotted their motel with low-tech binoculars (James Bamford, author of “The Shadow Factory” and the NOVA program by the same name on PBS).

Despite all the screw-ups, somebody in charge knew---the Bush Administration had the warning report right there on their desks. But Condoleezza Rice and George W. Bush claimed there was no way they could have foreseen terrorists flying high-jacked planes into buildings!

Do you feel safer now, knowing that every single electronic communication is currently being monitored? We are now gathering more information than ever to ignore---enough each day to fill the National Library. Four petabytes per month---the equivalent of 4 filing cabinets for every American per year. Good luck sorting through all that.

Anchorage Daily News, 1-2-2010, says: “Intel [intelligence] web gets closer scrutiny - REVIEW: National security groups not working together.” Gosh, you think so? Up here in Willow, Alaska we couldn’t even get the phone company and the electric company to put their wires in the same ditch---they each had to dig their own ditch. And these are not even government agencies!

“Systems” fail because governmental, bureaucratic systems protect themselves first. “Systems” grow themselves first. The more important and critical the agency function the more quickly, deeply and self-righteously that agency digs in and refuses to cooperate with other agencies. Bush inherited the Clinton bureaucracy and Obama inherited the Bush bureaucracy.

THE TOUGH GUYS---HIGH-TECH FOOLS VERSUS LOW-TECH TERRORISTS -

I found a N.Y Post blog comment on this Condom Bomber thing from an American tough guy who at least has the guts to give his real name (maybe):

On 12/29/2009 ChrisLongski wrote: “The face of the noble Jihadist Al-Qaeda 'warriors': a confused, unstable Yemeni kid whose own father turned him in for acting the fool.

How about some of the Al-Qaeda principles [I think he meant “principals“] showing their faces and trying to take on our soldiers in Afghanistan ! We have a LOT of big, healthy young guys over there who will oblige them…”

Bush-era, “Bring it on,” barroom bluster! Apparently the concept of guerilla warfare, insurgency, etc. eludes the video-game warriors. The whole insurgency idea is stay outside the range of high-tech weaponry. This, and the fact that it is their country is why most guerilla wars are eventually won by the insurgents.

READY TO PLAY THE FOOLS -

There is more political influence when the people are completely irrational and frightened out of their wits and want the government to protect them from the “blowback” consequences caused by actions committed by that very government.

Americans are now pee-in-their-pants scared. Somewhere in Bumwad, Egypt a band of swarthy Islamics is plotting another terror attack on America. Because they hate us. And they hate us because we are so beautiful.

Somewhere in a corporate boardroom, defense contractors are plotting how to sell the U.S. Government yet more jet planes with missiles designed to seek out and destroy condoms loaded with explosives sewn into the underwear of deranged Islamic youths by tawny Muslim maidens.

The smell of greed, power and the stink of fear is in the air. The stench of stupid makes the place reek like a corpse in the closet. Morality and strategy are now melding to justify bombing new countries. Like the one we’ve already been secretly bombing---Yemen.

Meanwhile, detection devices at airports are still in short supply---they are expensive but there is even more money to be made in planes, bombs and missiles.

PRECISE IMPRECISION -

Just how many “Al Quaeda leaders” and “top deputies” and “Taliban leaders” have really been killed, many times over, by our air strikes, missile strikes and Predator drone attacks? These media reports are not very well researched and just repeat what the government or military tells them. Remember the Muslim clergyman connected to the Fort Hood wacko? He has been “killed” several times recently---and still remains alive! Too bad about those poor women and children who happened to be there when those “precision” missiles landed! Well, they were in the neighborhood of where we thought some “bad guy” might be so they must be guilty of something. Instant “extraordinary rendition!”

How many of you out there actually believe that the remote, war-game-video-attacks against foreign countries are actually 1) Killing lots of “bad guys” 2) Not killing lots of innocent people and 3) Not making more terrorists than they kill?

Now, realizing that America’s “Global War On Terror” is insane---based on lies and mistruths, over-priced, inaccurate, geared for industry profits, ineffective and just making terrorism worse---how many of you out there are willing to come forth and declare this thing a bust?

I thought so---most of you are willing to keep us pushing buttons and frantically wiggling joy sticks causing many to die in hopes of hitting “a bad guy.”

STOPPING THE “TERRORISM THREAT“---LOOKING FOR NEW IRAQS TO INVADE -

We are obsessed with the thought that some ragtag al Quaeda group would somehow get hold of a nuclear device.

Here’s the reality. No nation with a nuclear device would give one to al Quaeda for two reasons: First, a nuclear explosion would leave a “signature” that would identify the country of origin. Secondly, the U.S. wouldn’t even need any “signature”---it would simply use any nuclear terrorism to bomb the country of choice (North Korea or Iran anyone?)---much as George W. Bush went after Iraq, even though it had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11 and possessed no weapons of mass destruction.

We assume---because we are so obsessed with high tech armaments---that those are what the terrorists really would use. We obviously haven’t learned anything from 9/11 which has been estimated to cost around $50,000 or so---plus the cost of box cutters.

Besides, we are seeing (or should be seeing) how difficult it is for even an established nation like Iran to develop a nuclear capability. Most nations seeking a nuclear weapon today want one not to attack anybody but simply to prevent the U.S. from invading them. Of course the terrorists would love to have a nuclear weapon, but to think that al Quaeda is going to get one ignores the fact that even rogue nations think al Quaeda are a bunch of wack-jobs. So, while the U.S. is dizzy with high-tech solutions---al Quaeda continues to have an ongoing low-tech approach to terrorism.

All the “terrorists” have to do is penetrate a nuclear facility with a bomb-laden plane, bus, body, truck or other means. While the U.S. terrorizes and/or destabilizes nations who have, or might get, a nuclear weapon, the terrorists will sneak into one of our nuclear facilities and blow it up. Just like they snuck Condom Boy past airport security while we were watching missiles being lobbed into Yemen.

In case my fellow Americans haven’t figured it out yet---the so-called “intelligence breakdown” that allowed the “Underwear Bomber” to have a fizzle in his pants means that the U.S. government is still neglecting threats from individual terrorists while conducting massive, useless wars against nations in order to further an energy-stealing agenda.

Just in case my fellow Americans haven’t figured it out yet, it’s all about TAPI--- the Turkmenistan/Afghanistan/Pakistan/India gas pipeline. The main and only reason Afghanistan is strategically important to the US is to build pipelines from the Caspian region, thereby avoiding Russia or Iran. Construction of the TAPI pipeline means that gas will be pumped straight to the Indian Ocean and world markets. It will make some people very much more rich.

And let us not forget one of the most basic causes of terrorism---Israel. According to his online posting, Condom Boy was angry over Israel bombing the Hell out of Gaza using weapons supplied by the U.S.

But Israel has one of the most successful and powerful lobbying groups in Washington, D.C.---AIPAC. Given that the healthcare industry has six lobbyists per Congressperson, that’s saying something!

The neo-conservatives support Israel because it is the closest thing we have to a friend in the Middle East. The Judeo-Christians support Israel for reasons of religious conquest of ancient Tribal adversaries. And Israel manipulates these American tools with impunity---to challenge Israel is to be labeled “anti-Semitic.”

Our President, Barack “Mr. Change” Obama tells us that Afghanistan is a necessary war to defend Americans from terrorist attacks. It is complete bull. The real motivation is that Afghanistan is loaded with uranium, tungsten, molybdenum and rare earths (used for TVs, wind turbines and hybrid/electric vehicles). In fact, the corporations that manufacture the missile systems, drone systems, surveillance equipment systems, helicopter and fighter jet systems made Barack Obama one of the most heavily funded presidential candidates of all time.

Our “Global War Against Terror” is part of our “geostrategy,” which means that our foreign (military) policy is determined by large energy, military, construction and security corporations---the only winners in America’s otherwise hideously stupid wars.

Al Quaeda can make it’s bases anywhere---9/11 was planned in apartments in Europe and elsewhere around the world. It is doubtful that the Taliban even knew what Osama was cooking up in his Afghan cave. O-Bush-ama ignores the saga of repeated U.S. intervention in Afghanistan for decades, the viewpoint of the Afghan people about a foreign army occupying their nation, or the feelings of the Pakistanis to the destabilizing horror spilling over into their country as a result of American military aggression.

MAKING MORE TERRORISTS -

Terrorists are like the Doritos-brand chips once hawked by Jay Leno: “Crunch all you want, we’ll make more.”

TERRORISM BY MISSILES AND BOMBS: If It’s Thursday We Must Be In Yemen

I was wrong! There is not one, but three civil wars going on in Yemen.

U.S. special forces, “reaper” drones and military aircraft have been in Yemen since 2001, supposedly killing Yemeni rebels, anti-government tribal leaders and al Quaeda.

On December 17, 2009 U.S. warplanes and/or cruise missiles killed 50-100 Yemeni tribesmen in revolt against the American-backed regime. The Yemeni government (the “good guys”) says only al Qaeda were killed. Tribal leaders claim more than 60 civilians were killed in these strikes.

The Underwear Bomber was specifically sent by al Quaeda as retaliation for the above attacks which, apparently, did not make it onto FOX News.

I’d call that “involved.”

The U.S. is engaged in one or more of the three different civil wars in Yemen---and so is our ally, Saudi Arabia, which is armed with U.S. aircraft and weaponry.

The U.S. is not only becoming more involved in tumultuous Yemen but is also expanding military operations across the Red Sea into Somalia and southern Kenya.

Britain, Iran, Saudi Arabia and Egypt are also getting involved in Yemen.

The New York Times and other news sources are stating that Obama Administration officials are now (in 2010) preparing the public for further U.S. military intervention in Yemen---including the possibility of ground troops in addition to the special forces already in that country.

Time to get out your maps and history books, kids, and learn a little something about yet another “backward,” “failed” Middle East state in which we have been involved since 2001. Time also to wean yourselves off FOX News.
