Merry Christmas

There has been a request from some endoscopy nurses in town that there be a break from the politics. They were hoping that the "Sweeney Claus" could simply hand out some gifts. I am going to oblige to a degree. So with some tone down in the politics and the use of the term Santa Dog instead...

The Palin

I would like to give Socialist Sarah a few gifts. First, the ability to actually put her actions behind her words. It is not at all acceptable to go after the president for being a socialist when your brief time as governor was notable for huge tax increases, bloated spending, and a failed attempt to save a state run dairy.

Second, a desire to learn. It is clear why it took so long for Governor Gidget to finish college. It is time for Sarah to actually learn about the things she talks about. A very important part of that is actually surrounding oneself with people who can help you learn the information.

Third, patience and time to reason. The Senate needed every last one of the 60 votes the Democrats had to pass health care. To get there they needed to provide bribes for some of the 60. Love or hate Uncle Ted, if he had been there it likely would not have happened. The Palin was quick to jump on Teddy Porkbarrell and it undoubtedly played a role in Marky Mark's victory. Alaskans should blame Sarah as much as anyone else for the bill passing and she would do well to remember that.

Marky Mark

I would like to give the leader of the Church of Begich the gift of intestinal fortitude. He will have another chance on procedural votes to stop this health care plan when the compromise comes back. He should look at what Alaskans think.

This should be about Alaskans and not about Harry Reid. It may be in Begich blood to betray the people and favor special interests. It was proven with the Anchorage budget. However, now it is time to show us "change we can believe in."

Dan Sullivan

I would like to give Mr. Sullivan the gift of focus. The city was left in a mess. Yes, it was Begich's fault but we must move forward. The cuts will have to keep coming and the cries will be loud especially from the unions and the granola chompers.

Stand strong Dan. Hopefully, we will be able to shift the assembly in a few months and eliminate some of the Church of Begich members who went along with the fiasco.

Captain Zero aka Sean Parnell

I would like to give Sean a personality. He has a history of some decent legislative accomplishments but his molding into Palin Posse doctrine and stumbling in the debates with DY has to have Alaskans shaking their head.

Ralph Samuels will get Santa Dog's vote but I remain hopeful you then other SP still come around someday and at least turn zero to one. It will never happen with the other one.

Andrew Halcro

I would like to give Mr. Halcro the gift of godspeed. Alaska needs someone with the ability to reason and come to the right decision. The country needs it as well. I may not agree with everything he says but I never am left wondering if the issue was given thought.

It would be best if Andy could run as an independent but the reality of the two party system requires something different.

Frequent Flier Commenters

I give you the gift of being part of the discussion. This is not a post and run operation for me.

This is not a one way street and things only move forward with debate. There will always be some who feel the need to attack the person and not the position. They shall receive the gift of a similar response.

All input is appreciated even when it questions my parentage.

Now, please tell me the gifts you have for our local politicians. And I already have plenty of gifts under the tree so leave me out of it.

Any odds on whether certain people can resist?
