I've been a traveler since I can remember. I spread my wings as a flight attendant at age 20, then married a traveling man and we've never stopped. While based in Anchorage, we've ventured to India, Peru, Bali, Morocco, Burma, Tunisia Singapore and Ecuador. I love ferreting out places off the beaten path. And when things don't go quite as planned, that's just part of the adventure.

Holiday gift suggestions for the traveler on your list.

I’ve just finished my letter to Santa with my holiday wish list and thought that the traveler on your list might like some of the same things. Here’s what I asked for:
Dear Santa,
1. I would like a Flip Video camera. I had one about a year ago and loved it as it was so small and convenient to pull out of my pocket or purse at the right moment. I did return it, however, because the buttons were too small as was the memory. Now the company has improved the little video camera and it has 8GB memory, twice the recording time (120 min) and it comes in HD format.
2. I also need new luggage. My suitcase falls over when it is loaded and it is difficult to wheel around. I want a new design with inline wheels that swivel and make it easy to pull through airports. Also since I’m restricted to 50 pounds, I need it to be lightweight (10 pounds or less). If you have one of those snappy hard-sided orange ones, it would make it really easy to see it coming around on the carousel.
3. I’d also like a new point and shoot camera. I know that I have several right now, but there is a new one out that has more megapixels (10), an ultra wide angle lens (25mm) and a 12x zoom. It’s the Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS3. I’ve read the online reviews and it’s much better than the Canon I now have. Costco has the camera on sale right now in case your elves are really busy.
4. And there’s one other little thing that would make me soooooo happy. I’d like a NY Built laptop sleeve. My friend has one and she doesn’t even have to take her laptop out of its sleeve when she goes through security.
Thanks Santa. I hope that you stop first in Anchorage on your way out Christmas Eve. We’re really close to the North Pole. Then I’ll be ready to take all those wonderful Christmas Day photos and videos plus I can start packing for my next trip…Gloria
