Winger Jordan Smelker of Anchorage and defenseman Kiana Nauheim of Fairbanks have both signed a National Letter of Intent to play Division I women's hockey next season.
Smelker, who attends Service High and is a two-time ADN/Coaches Player of the Year, will attend Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which plays in the ECAC. The Engineers currently include sophomore defenseman Amanda Castignetti of Anchorage.
Nauheim, who attends Brewster Academy in New Hampshire, will play at the University of Connecticut, which plays in Hockey East.
