Congrats are due former UAA center Jay Beagle, who tonight scored his first NHL goal.
Beagle scored for the Washington Capitals against the Ottawa Senators. He'll always have Ottawa's Jonathan Cheechoo to thank -- Beagle picked off Cheechoo's errant pass in the Senators zone and snapped a wrister past former Wisconsin goaltender Brian Elliott on the stick side.
Three games ago, he scored his first NHL point with an assist.
Beagle last season made his NHL debut with the Caps, playing three regular-season games and four playoff tilts.
In you're interested, Beagle's NHL salary is $687,500, according to the NHL Players' Association. That means he makes roughly about $3,700 a day up in The Show. He's been up in the NHL for the last week, so he's pocketing some nice dough.
