Rehearsals: The Anchorage Community Concert Band will practice 7 p.m. Tuesdays. The band has a varied group of ages and talents and plays a variety of music from classical to marches. (258-7263, akband.org)

Artist-in-Residence: Denali National Park and Preserve is seeking applications from visual artists for the 2010 Artist-in-Residence program. Deadline is Oct. 31. Artists will spend a 10-day period in a cabin and are required to donate one piece to the park’s collection as well as provide a public presentation for visitors at the end of the residency.
