Take our poll: Who misses who most?
I'm heading out of town tonight and having to leave the three dogs behind. I've already typed up my two pages of instructions for the housesitter, and walked him through everything from feeding to poop schedules.
I've dotted all the i's and crossed the t's, but I'll still worry about them while I'm gone. I've gotten better over the years and even come to appreciate the break it gives me.
I'm not really sure how much separation anxiety they suffer. I hear they mope for a few days, then settle in to a new routine. They're always animated and happy when we return.
So who suffers worst when we're apart? It's probably about the same. Key for all of us is staying busy. If the sitter can keep them occupied, they won't think about me and my wife as much. And if I stay busy on our trip, I won't worry about them.
So how about you? Do you miss your dogs more or do they miss you more?
