Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.

Stolen Pekingnese is safe at home

Just got an e-mail from Starla, and they recovered Spirit tonight at the Huffman Carrs, where their nightmare began.

A customer reported a dog in the bathroom Sunday, and the Carrs staff recognized Spirit from the posters the family had put out. She is safe and sound at home.

I love happy endings.

For those who missed it, Spirit, an albino Pekingnese less than a year old, was stolen from a car in the Carrs parking lot on Thursday. The car was locked, but a window was lowered just enough for a slim arm to fit through and open the door. A witness reported seeing a young couple in a light-colored convertible driving away with the dog.
