The Last Call has its Last Call in print

To all my fellow lush-lifers who have been wondering why my charming mugshot hasn’t been in the Play section for the past few weeks – the answer is, my Last Call column is now on an online-only track. But never fear! I’m still with you, and continue to haunt local spots, travel out and about for new and exciting appetizer, cocktail and nightlife deals – I’ll simply be doing it all from the Lush Life blog from now on.

It’s been a great run, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the Anchorage nightlife scene in print the past two years. As my predecessor said, it’s pretty much the best job in town. And it’s still a great gig – it’s just changing shape a little bit.

Sigh. We all know the newspaper industry is struggling. It’s a fact – but another fact is that blogs are thriving. So show your love. Post some comments. Give me some suggestions on what you want to hear about, new places you’ve always wanted to check out, sketchy dive bars you’ve heard have sweet dart competitions – I’ll go there for you, Anchorage. There is no pint glass deep enough, no neighborhood far enough away (trust me), no unpaved road hassling enough to keep me from the nightlife scoop. But I’ll need your help.

So please keep reading. And I’ll continue posting witty, informational and nightlife-oriented commentary. Keep an eye out for my mugshot in upcoming issues of Play, with a brief snippet of blogs and updates to come that can be found online. Thanks for reading Anchorage, now let’s take our relationship to the next level.
