Aliza Sherman's Twitter Home Page
I started using Twitter two years ago, and I'm still not bored with it. More accurately, I'm more in love with Twitter than ever. How do I love Twitter? Let me count the ways.
1. My human filters. I love the way I can zoom in on important and relevant articles because I'm following people in my industry who tell me what they are reading - and by extension - what I should be reading.
2. My watercooler. I love how I can jump into the Twitterstream at any moment when I am feeling isolated working from my home and Tok and be in the midst of vibrant discussions from around the world.
3. My gateway. I love how I can use Twitter to lead others to new blogs posts I've written or my latest podcast in a non-pushy way.
4. My soapbox. I love how I can express my opinions on topics and have some listeners out there who will respond - such as the latest discussion about women in high tech being snubbed as keynote speakers at tech conferences.
5. My tech support. I love how I can pose a technical question to my Twitter followers and have great answers within minutes.
6. My recommendation engine. I love how I discover new videos or learn about new music, movies or television shows by paying attention to what those I follow like and tweet.
7. My connector. I love how I can meet people in different parts of the country and world and when I find myself traveling to those parts, I have a genuine connection because we are connected via Twitter.
8. My brand builder. I love how I was "off the grid" for over 5 years and now live at the cross roads of the Alaska Highway accessing the Internet for over $200 per month but can still build my brand and get my name out there to draw attention to my social media marketing company (Conversify).
I could go on and on, but I'm sure you get the picture. Twitter is not a fad. Twitter has fundamentally changed how we communicate - just like email did in the early 90s.
