Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jillian, a pair of Yorkies who think they're huskies, and Lucy, a sweet Chessie. R.I.P., Rusty. Contact mlewis@adn.com

Adoption of the Week: Meet Babygirl

BabygirlBabygirl

Here's Anchorage Animal Care and Control's Adoption of the Week, courtesy of Brooke Taylor, AACC's public relations coordinator.

Here is Babygirl, a 7-year-old, female pit bull mix. She was adopted from us after a monthlong stay in June. Unfortunately, due to financial concerns, she has been brought back. The person who adopted her highlighted on her personality profile that she was the PERFECT DOG. They loved everything about her.

This girl loves to have her head and neck scratched, play tug-of-war and chase tennis balls. She pays good attention to her walkers, and her sweet and mellow personality has made her a favorite here. She is a friendly and happy giver of kisses too!

She is an active girl and will need a new home where she can get lots of exercise. She would probably do best in a home where she is the only dog and there are no cats. Babygirl is a wonderful dog who needs a chance to find her forever home. She can be adopted for $137, which includes her spay deposit, vaccinations, MOA license and microchip.
