Text: On 7/4/2009 at 1630 hours, the Alaska State Troopers arrested
Mitchell "Bear" Hiram Carle Jr, 32 of Hydaburg for Misconduct Involving
a Controlled Substance VI and Violation of Conditions of Release, when
he was arrested on a $100.00 warrant, for Violating conditions of
Release on an original charge of DUI and Refusal to Submit to a Breath
Test. Carle Jr was remanded to the Craig Community Jail.

Type: Vehicle Fire
Text: On 7/6/2009 at 1607 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a
report of a vehicle on fire at the intersection of Kasaan Road and Goose
Creek. Thorne Bay EMS and Fire were dispatched and responded. David
Hullstine, age 57, of South Thorne Bay was driving his van when the
dashboard became engulfed in flames. Hullstine was able to escape the
vehicle with minor injuries. Thorne Bay fire was able to extinguish the
fire and the van was a total loss.

Text: On 7/7/09 at approximately 0048 hours, Alaska State Troopers
arrested Jared Doll, 29 of Kenai, for DUI. Doll was transported to MSPT
where he was remanded with a bail of $1000. He was originally contacted
during a disturbance at a liquor store near mile 49 of the Parks
Highway.

Text: On 07/07/09, at approximately 0036 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted Rebecca Louise Anderson at a residence off Sims Road in Big
Lake during a disturbance investigation. Records revealed 32 yoa,
Rebecca Louise Anderson, of Wasilla was released form jail on third
party custodian with conditions not to consume any alcohol. Anderson
was arrested and charged with Violation of Conditions of Release and
transported to MSPT. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only and a Court
Appointed Third Party.

Type: DWLS

Text: On 07/06/2009 at approximately 1305 hours, Alaska State Troopers
stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Pittman Rd. and Sunrise Dr.
outside Wasilla for an equipment violation. The driver of the vehicle
was identified as Randy G. Shaffer, age 42, of Big Lake. Shaffer was
found to have a suspended driver's license. Shaffer was arrested and
remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial facility on the charge of DWLS. Shaffer
was held on a bail of $250. The vehicle was released to a licensed
driver.

Type: Leaving The Scene of an Accident

Text: On 07/07/2009 at approximately 1501 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received a report of a hit and run at the Crooked Lake Parking lot in
Big Lake. Investigation revealed that the complainants 1998 black Ford
Ranger was parked in the lot and someone backed into it; this occurred
sometime between the morning of 07/04/2009 and the evening of
07/05/2009. This case is still under investigation and anyone with
information regarding this case is encouraged to call the Alaska State
Troopers at 373-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 745-3333.

Text: On 7-1-09, approximately 0830 hrs., Alaska State Troopers
investigated the report of a burglary at the Adak Fisheries plant in
Adak which occurred sometime during the preceding two days. A Dell
desktop computer valued at $1,300 was stolen. AST investigation
continues.

Type: Driving without a Valid License

Text: On 7/5/2009, at 0256 hours, Alaska State Trooper in Bethel
initiated a traffic stop on a Silver Dodge Caravan in Bethel. The driver
of the vehicle, identified as Samantha Moses (age 18 of Bethel), was
found to have no valid drivers license. Moses was charged with Driving
without a Valid Drivers License and the vehicle was released to a
licensed driver. Alcohol was not involved in this incident.

Type: Arrest Warrant

Text: On 07/06/2009, Lester Green (age 28 of Chevak) was arrested on an
outstanding $5000 arrest warrant in Chevak. The arrest warrant was
issued for Green by the Chevak 4th District Court for the charges of 1
count of Assault 4th degree Domestic Violence, 1 count interfering with
the report of a Domestic Violence Crime, Resisting Arrest, 1 count
Criminal mischief 5th degree, Escape in the 4th degree, and 2 counts of
Assault 4th degree on a Peace Officer. Lester Green was arrested without
incident and transported to Bethel where he was remanded to YKCC.

Type: Motor Vehicle Collision

Text: On 7-6-09, at about 1710 hours, Bethel AST was notified of a minor
motor vehicle collision on Eddie Hoffman Highway with Yukon Kuskokwim
Health Corporation (YKHC) cross walk. A 1996 Ford four door car (cab)
being operated by John Row 60 yoa of Bethel rear ended a 1995 Ford
pickup being operated by Bob Angaiak 52 yoa of Bethel. Minor damage only
to the bumper of Angaiak's vehicle. Row had two passengers in his
vehicle, one of which was a 2 yoa female. Row was issued two citations
for failure to avoid a collision and failure to secure a child in a
safety device. Both operators were wearing seatbelts and no injuries to
the operators or the passengers. No alcohol was involved.

Text: On Monday, 7-6-09, at about 1632 hours, Alaska State Troopers and
USCG Military Security Police contacted 20 YOA Shaun R. Pickering of
California at his barracks room on the USCG ISC Base, Kodiak. Pickering
was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant; original charge
Driving While License Revoked/Canceled/Suspended. Pickering was
transported to the Kodiak Jail where he posted bail.

Text: On 07/06/09, approximately 1450 hrs., Dillingham Troopers received
a report of two assaults which had occurred in Nondalton, AK.
Investigation revealed that Terina Trefon, age 25, of Nondalton had
assaulted her mother, Clara Trefon, age 50, of Nondalton by hitting her
with a telephone. Additionally Terina assaulted her brother, Scott
Trefon, age 24, of Nondalton when she pushed him and he struck his head
against a wall. Terina was taken into custody on a court issued ex-parte
order for a mental health evaluation. The investigation is ongoing.

Text: On Monday, 7-6-09, at about 0718 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted 72 YOA Richard McGavran of Port Lions at his Port Lions
residence. McGavran was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant;
original charge Driving Under the Influence. McGavran was transported
to Kodiak via the P/V Ethics where he was remanded at the Kodiak Jail.
Bail was set at $1,000.00.

Type: Driving Without Insurance

Text: On July 7, 2009 at 4:30pm, Alaska State Troopers conducted a
traffic stop on the vehicle 25 year old Michael Pitka was operating.
Pitka was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without
liability insurance. Pitka was transported and remanded to the
Yukon-Kuskokwim Correctional Center.

Text: On 7-5-09 at approximately 1000 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received report of a burglary of the concessions shack located at the
Tok softball fields. Investigation revealed two vehicles that were left
in the parking overnight were burglarized. Tools used to effect the
break-in's as well as other leads have been found. Investigation is

Type: Felony Driving Under the Influence & Driving While License Revoked
Text: On 7-4-09 at approximately 0717 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received report of a vehicle driving erratically. Alaska State Trooper
investigation resulted in the arrest of Byron Captain, 34 of Tetlin.
Investigation revealed Byron Captain to have two prior driving under
influence convictions as well as to be driving with a revoked license.

Text: On 7-2-09 at approximately 1819 hours, Alaska State Troopers
received report of an intoxicated male stripping his clothes off,
dropping them in the parking lot and walking across the highway. Ronnie
Joe, 50 of Tetlin, was contacted in the area half dressed. Ronnie Joe
was found to be on felony probation and to be violating his conditions.
Ronnie Joe was arrested and transported to the Tok AST holding facility.

Type: Criminal Mischief, Criminal Trespass, and minor consuming
Text: On 7-4-09, at approximately 0742 hours, William Ainsworth, age 60
of Tok, contacted Alaska State Troopers to report that a juvenile
subject was in his yard destroying property inside his greenhouse.
Alaska State Troopers arrived on the scene as the juvenile fled into the
woods. The juvenile was arrested after a short foot pursuit by troopers.
The juvenile is being charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass,
and minor consuming.

Location: Delta Junction

Case number: 09-57559

Type: Drowning

Text: On 7-4-09 at approximately 1800 hours, AST responded to the gravel
pits on Spengler Road for a report of a possible drowning. AST
investigation determined Louis E. Stockwell 63, of Delta Junction had
been swimming at the gravel pits. Stockwell failed to surface after
diving under the water. Immediate search efforts by local divers to
locate Stockwell were unsuccessful. Additional divers were called in
from Ft. Wainwright on the morning of 7-5-09 to assist. Stockwell was
located at approximately 1900 hours on 7-5-09. AST would like to thank
Delta Rescue, Rural Deltana Fire Department, Ft. Greely Emergency
Services/Rescue, Delta Forestry, Delta Fire, CRTC, Ft. Wainwright
EMS/Rescue Dive Team, several local divers and many volunteers who
contributed to the search effort.

Type: DWLS

Text: On 7-4-09 at 1411 hrs, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a red
2001 Ford F150 for traveling 68 mph in a 55 mph zone at mile 249
Richardson Highway. Investigation revealed that Gilberto Leyva, 37, of
Fairbanks was driving a motor vehicle with a suspended driver's license.
Leyva was issued a summons for driving while his driver's license was
suspended.

Type: Warrant Arrest

Text: On 7-4-09 at 1706 hrs, Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a
vehicle traveling 71 mph in a 55 mph zone. Investigation revealed that
a passenger in the vehicle Lori Erwin, 25, of Fairbanks had a no bail
warrant for her arrest for failure to appear for court. Erin was placed
under arrest and transported to Fairbanks Correctional Center.

Text: On 7/4/09 Alaska State Troopers received a theft that occurred at
a Prospect Drive residence. Somebody stole a Garmin GPS valued at $200

Text: On 7-4-09 at 2210 hours, Seward based Troopers responded to mile 3
Exit Glacier Road for a reported motor vehicle collision. Investigation
revealed Chase Janson, age 18 of Soldotna, pulled in front of another
vehicle causing a collision. Further investigation revealed Janson had
consumed alcohol prior to operating his vehicle. Janson was issued
citation to appear in the Seward Court for minor operating after
consuming alcohol, minor consuming alcohol, and due care to avoid a
collision.

Text: On 7-5-09 at 0340 hours, Seward based AST contacted J.W., age 17
of Seward, after the vehicle she was a passenger in was stopped for an

Text: On 7-2-09, Seward based AST responded to the Pit Bar for a report
of harassment. Investigation revealed Jack Walganski, age 49, of Seward
reportedly grabbed a female inappropriately while inside of the bar.

responded to a report of an assault at a residence on the Sterling

Text: On 07/05/09, at approximately 2317 hours, Alaska State Troopers
contacted a suspicious vehicle near the intersection of Pine St and
National Ave in Soldotna. Investigation revealed that a passenger in
the vehicle, Seth M. Faughnan (age 19 of Anchorage), had recently been
smoking marijuana in the vehicle and was in possession of marijuana and
marijuana paraphernalia. Faughnan was issued a summons to appear in the
District Court at Kenai for Misconduct Involving a Controlled Substance
in the Sixth Degree.

Case Number: 09-57180
Type: Prohibited Operation of Watercraft
Text: On 7/7/09, at 0200 hours, Alaska Wildlife Troopers while
patrolling the Egegik District received a report of a vessel being
rammed in Egegik. Further investigation revealed that the F/V Tiger II
had rammed/collided with the F/V Ayhan while it was at anchor. The
skipper of the F/V Tiger II, Marc D. McKee, 38 yoa, was contacted and
found to be under the influence of alcohol at the time of the collision.
Additional charges are being forwarded to the District Attorneys Office
for review and disposition. Investigation is ongoing.

Type: Comercial Fish Closed Waters
Text: On 7-6-2009, Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a summons to Walter
N. Jordan (21 YOA) of Blaine, Wa. for commercial fishing in closed
waters by drift gill net outside of the Egegik Sockeye Salmon District.
The case was documented by a state aircraft. Arraignment is set for the
Naknek Court on July, 15, 2009.

Type: Fail to Show Proof of Liability Insurance

Text: On 7/5/09 Bethel Wildlife Troopers cited Sonya Olofsson, age 45,

Text: On 7/6/09 Alaska State Troopers responded to a REDDI Report of a
boat with three intoxicated individuals running aground on the Kuskokwim
River approximately 1 mi. upstream of the mouth of the Johnson River
near Napakiak, AK. One of the individuals was reportedly unconscious.
Troopers arrested Patrick R. Nick, age 19, of Nunapichuck, AK. for DUI -
Watercraft, Violating Conditions of Release, and Minor Consuming. The
unconscious passenger was medically cleared and released in Napakiak. A
second minor passenger was cited for Minor Consuming and released. Nick
was transported to Bethel for remand to YKCC pending arraignment in
Bethel District Court.
