Dog Blog

The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own. On Fridays, weigh in about your training questions and successes.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jillian, a pair of Yorkies who think they're Labs, and Rusty, an elderly Lab who thinks he's a Yorkie.

Anchorage Unleashed meeting set

Comments (0) |

Anchorage Unleashed, the volunteer organization that spearheaded the city's effort to get five unleashed dog parks approved, is alive and well and holding an informational meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Animal Care and Control.

The purpose is twofold: To hear from city representatives and the public on a vision for the city's dog parks and developing a plan to achieve them. And two, to find volunteers interested in helping out.

I've always thought Anchorage Unleashed is the perfect organization to chase some of these goals. They had success with the dog parks, which have been generally well received by dog owners. But they need some new blood to keep their work going.

I'm likely not going to be able to make it, but here are the details for anyone who can. Pass it on to your dog-loving friends.

WHO: Anchorage Unleashed
WHAT: Informational meeting on dog parks in the city
WHEN: 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 8
WHERE: Animal Care and Control, 4711 Elmore Road (off Tudor).
MORE INFORMATION: Contact Kayla at 337-1688 or Miriam Marsh at 337-7146.
