4 Professional Applications to Add to Your Facebook Profile

As more and more people use Facebook as a professional networking site and not just for social interactions, many wonder how they can make their Facebook profile as professional as possible. There are so many fun applications to add to a Facebook profile, but by doing so, you might create irrelevant clutter that doesn't put your best professional foot forward.
Here are four applications you can add to your personal Facebook profile to enhance it as a professional networking and image-enhancing tool:
1. Testimonials - You can add this app to your profile and use it to gather references from your personal, professional and academic contacts.
2. Professional Profile - You can use this app to sync your LinkedIn resume and recommendations onto your profile page. LinkedIn is the largest professional social network while Facebook is the largest social network so you get the best of both worlds.
3. Slideshare - If you make presentations and have some slides that demonstrate your know-how, you can add this app to your profile and let others view your work.
4. Call Me on Skype - If you are interested in doing business globally, a Skype account is an affordable way to make and receive international calls. Skype can even help you save money on calls across the country. Add this application to your profile for business-related calls.
If you've added non-professional applications to your profile, you may want to remove them in order to clear up the clutter and focus on business. Some people opt to create Facebook Pages for their businesses and leave their Facebook profiles as their personal spaces. But always remember that everything you do on Facebook is potentially accessible to others even if it is private so take care to behave appropriately in online spaces or it might come back to haunt you in your professional life!
How are you using Facebook? For personal or professional interactions or both?
