Last week, I wrote a blog post ID'ing June 15-17 as the tentative dates for APOC to hold a hearing on the complaint alleging election law violations filed by Pebble and the Resource Development Council against Bob Gillam, Alaskans for Clean Water et al.
All parties involved have agreed to cancel the hearing and hold it on a later date, the APOC executive director told me this week. Apparently, some new complaints are being consolidated into this one, and no new date has been set yet. I haven't seen those new complaints yet, but I've heard one is coming quite soon.
I wrote a story about Gillam's testimony and other documents submitted during APOC's investigation for today's paper. In case you didn't already, you can read it here. The story was less about whether Gillam was guilty of anything and more about the extent of his involvement in the anti-Pebble campaign. That is something that has been somewhat obscure to those of us watching that campaign from the outside.
So far, I've gotten a few reactions to the story ranging from "good article" to "puff piece." In the near future, I will also need to report on larger issues that go well beyond Gillam and this particular APOC investigation, so stay tuned.
