The Anchorage Symphony Orchestra has announced its lineup for next season.

Oct. 24, 2009
Verdi: Overture to "I Vespri Siciliani"
Avner Dorman: "Spices, Perfumes, Toxins"
Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 4

Dec. 12, 2009
Handel: "Messiah"
Former ASO conductor George Hanson returns to lead the orchestra with the Anchorage Concert Chorus and Alaska Chamber Singers.

Jan. 16, 2010
Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 2
Frank Proto: "Carmen" Fantasy for Double Bass and Orchestra
Debussy: Nocturnes
Gregory Prechel: "Exposition on the Anchorage Museum" (world premiere)

Feb. 20, 2010
Mozart: Overture to "Cosi fan Tutte"
Mascagni: Intermezzo from "Cavalleria Rusticana"
Leoncavallo: Intermezzo from "I Pagliacci"
Carl Davis: Theme from "The French Lieutenant's Woman"
Bartok: Suite from "The Miraculous Mandarin"
Prokofiev: Selections from "Romeo and Juliet"
Borodin: Polovtsian Dances

March 27, 2010
Peter Maxwell Davies: "An Orkney Wedding, with Sunrise"
Ravel: Piano Concerto in G
Schubert: Symphony No. 9

April 17, 2010
Mozart: Overture to "Don Giovanni"
Tchaikovsky: Festival Coronation March
Michael Abels: "Delights and Dances"
John Deak: Concerto for String Quartet and Orchestra
Bernstein: Symphonic Dances from "West Side Story"

In addition, there will be two special event programs:

Family Halloween Concert, with skits, costumes and trick-or-treating

Jan. 30, 2010
Charlie Chaplain in "The Gold Rush," the silent movie accompanied by live orchestra
