Here's one more announcement from the Keystone Center, which Anglo American has contracted with to host stakeholder dialogs on Pebble:
______________________________________
Dear Pebble Stakeholders,
The Keystone Center’s independent science advisory committee is scheduled to visit hub communities in southwest Alaska between May 1 and 5 to discuss the Keystone Center’s independent science panels and dialogue focused on the proposed Pebble mine.
The science advisory committee is made up of five preeminent Alaskan and nationally recognized scientists from the fields of geology and geochemistry, fisheries biology, subsistence hunting and fishing, and mining economics (see earlier blog post for biographies). The committee’s role is to help the Keystone Center design a series of independent science panels that will help stakeholders assess the credibility and sufficiency of Pebble’s environmental and socioeconomic baseline information.
The visit will allow stakeholders to meet the science advisory committee, discuss the Keystone dialogue, and familiarize the committee with southwest Alaska.
The meeting schedule follows:
Saturday May 2:
10 AM to noon – Challenger Learning Center – Kenai
2 PM to 4 PM – Kachemak Bay Campus of Kenai Peninsula College – Homer
Sunday May 3:
4 PM to 6 PM – Teen Center – Newhalen
Monday May 4:
11 AM to 1 PM – Bristol Bay Campus of UAF – Dillingham
4 PM to 6 PM – Southwest Alaska Vocational Educational Center – King Salmon
