Gordie Howe Hat Trick For Dubinsky; Goal For Gomez

Comments (0) |

New York Rangers center Brandon Dubinsky of Anchorage didn't just bust out of a 13-game goal drought in Monday's 4-1 win over Phoenix, he racked up the 'ol Gordie Howe hat trick -- a goal, an assist and a fight.

Dubinsky's racked his fifth goal of the season on a wraparound, furnished a helper and fought Coyotes tough guy Daniel Carcillo early on.

Meanwhile, Rangers center Scott Gomez of Anchorage returned to the lineup after missing five games with what has now been reported as a stress fracture of his ankle to cinch the win with an empty-net goal. He had scored just one goal in his previous 12 appearances. He cleaned up in the face-off circle, winning a ridiculous 19 of 23 draws. Gomez also had a team high-tying five shots and logged his usual heavy ice time: 22:40.

In Philly, Flyers defenseman Matt Carle of Anchorage went +1 in a 4-3 win over Dallas. He logged 21:13.
