It Got Ugly In Augusta (11 Fights, 233 PIMs)

Check out the old-time hockey they played Saturday night in Augusta, Ga., where the Florida Everblades bum-rushed the home-team Lynx 12-0 (or 12-R.I.P. as a buddy of mine would say) in an ECHL game that featured 11 fighting majors, a second-period line brawl, 11 game misconducts, a spearing major and 233 penalty minutes.

You can scan the the scoresheet from this lovely debacle here.

Um, paging Rod Pasma, the league's senior vice president of hockey operations and in charge of discipline. His plate just got quite full.

And you Alaskan puckheads are no doubt familiar with some of the combatants in this Ode To Slap Shot. Florida defenseman Peter Metcalf, the former Alaska Aces star who had one goal and one assist in the game, picked up a fighting major and game misconduct in the line brawl. Former UAA Seawolves forward Dallas Steward of the Lynx picked up a fighting major, game misconduct and instigator penalty in the melee.

But former UAF Nanooks skater Ryan Lang of Florida managed to finish the game, racking two goals and one assist and marking himself as one of the 11 skaters (out of 36 skaters combined) who got out of the game without picking up a penalty.
