Young Stumps through Wasilla

A relaxed U.S. Rep. Don Young smiled, joked, and stumped for votes Tuesday at the Greater Wasilla Chamber of Commerce.
Young talked up his federal experience and resource development stance in a brief speech to appreciative chamber members, who packed a room at Grandview Inn & Suites.
He castigated federal "bailout" legislation - Young voted against it twice - and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, whom he described as running that body "just like a dictator."
The congressman congratulated the crowd on their hometown vice-presidential candidate, Gov. Sarah Palin. He also remarked on the youth of many chamber members, "except Bert" -- that would be Bert Hall, a former state and local official who introduced Young's speech, and at 75 apparently has about six months on the congressman.
Later, Young said he came to chamber on their invite. One of the two Young daughters also live in Wasilla: Dawn Vallely, who brought the youngest of their 14 grandchildren with her on Tuesday.
