The Dog Blog is a community of ordinary dog lovers who have come together to discuss our extraordinary dogs. Each Monday, a new topic is introduced. If you've got an opinion, share it. If not, look for the current "anything goes" topic and introduce a discussion of your own.
Your host: Mike Lewis is a little-dog nerd and the proud owner of Eddie and Jack, a pair of Yorkies who think they are huskies. Perhaps to save face among the big-dog owners around here, he rescued a goofy 9-year-old Lab named Rusty over the winter. An odd trio, for sure, but they are best friends and a happy pack.

Anchorage Animal Care and Control Center is holding an Adoption Fair called Friends for Life from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14.
Dogblogger dogworld sent me this flier. If you know anyone in search of a dog, cat or other animal, it sounds like a great time to check it out.

This is the funniest and most entertaining blog (in my humble opinion).
Speaking of "other" animals there is a rabbit, fish, two chickens-one that is that cute ,furry red with the furry legs?-and a guinea pig available right now for adoption as well. Lots of options for any animal lover!

Very slow today. Crazy at work and then ended up with Jaws at the vet with bloody diahrrea for the third time in as many months. Poor little old man.

He looks so healthy and happy at the little-dog meetup. It always surprises me to hear he's ailing. Hope he's feeling better.

One minute he's acting like a puppy and the next he's erupting from both ends with blood. He's one incredible pup and makes me wonder what's really going on that he's not letting me know. Poor guy must've had a rough start in life. I'm just glad I pick up on it so quickly and have a small doggie pharmacy in my house! He's still so happy and LOVES getting outside and walking, even though the walks are so much shorter. Saturday he didn't move until about 3pm and then it was slow. Each time I take him to the vet it hits me how old and how incredible he really is. Not to mention my vet being one fantastic, understanding and compassionate person.
